Public Works & Traffic Commission


The Public Works & Traffic Commission is responsible for advising the City Council on the Public Works program for the City including infrastructure improvements to the City's streets and roads, maintenance requirements of the City's roads, parks, trees, planted medians, traffic signals, storm drains and other improvements.

The Commission develops a five-year Capital Improvements Plan annually for submission to the City Council outlining the City's infrastructure needs for the future. In addition, the Commission reviews public works conditions imposed on development projects, traffic circulation and congestion issues as well as parking restriction needs and authorizes changes consistent with state and local requirements.

Qualifications:  Each of the five (5) Commissioners shall be a resident of the City and shall be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the City Council.  Members of the Public Works and Traffic Commission shall not serve on one of the City’s other seven (7) Commissions/Committees simultaneously (with the exception of the Joint Use Committee).  Other than City Council members, persons elected to any office may serve as a City Commissioner except as provided by Government Code section 1099 and/or any other applicable law.

Compensation:  Public Works Commission Members receive a stipend of $50.00 per meeting, which they must be in attendance to receive.



Meetings

The Public Works & Traffic Commission meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM at City Hall.
