Come join Mayor Jonathan Curtis on a hike to celebrate the 30th anniversary of open space at Cherry Canyon on Saturday, October 22nd. The Mayor will lead a hike from the Hampstead Road Trail Head at 9:30 a.m. to Ultimate Destination Point, where light refreshments will be served at 10:30 a.m. The group will regenerate the open space area by throwing seed bombs filled with native Poppy. Following this, the group will hike back to the trail head.

Parking is extremely limited near the trail head. As such, please park at Descanso Gardens (see map) and take the event shuttle bus to the trail head. The shuttle bus will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on event day.

The hike will last approximately 2 hours. Some parts of the hike involve traversing steep slopes - hiking shoes are recommended, and only children 6 years and older should participate.
Parking is extremely limited, so we encourage all participants to carpool and utilize the shuttle bus service from the Descanso Gardens parking lot.

Be sure to stay cool - bring water, hats, and sun screen. Dogs are welcome on the hike but must be leashed, and owners must pick up after their dogs.

Mountain bikers, joggers, and equestrians are also encouraged to attend. These groups may meet at the Descanso Gardens parking lot.

This event is open to the public.
