City Council Members

Mayor Leonard Pieroni             Term: March 2015 to March 2020                   First elected: March 2015

Mayor Pieroni has lived in La Cañada Flintridge since 5th grade attending Paradise Canyon Elementary School.  Prior to the City Council, Mayor Pieroni served as a Public Works and Traffic Commissioner.  He is the Section Manager for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.  

Len and his wife Brenda have two teenage children.  He is involved in several local groups including the Boy Scouts of America and is currently president of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Support Group.

Mayor Pro Tem Gregory C. Brown          Term: July 2017 to March 2020           First elected: March 2003

Mayor Pro Tem Gregory C. Brown was appointed to a two-year term on the La Cañada Flintridge City Council, serving through March 2020.   His appointment filled the unexpected vacancy on the City Council after the passing of long-time City Council Member David A. Spence. 

City Council Member Brown served as a City Council member from 2003-2011, and as Mayor during 2006-2007.  Council Member Brown has served in numerous other leadership capacities with the City, including serving on the City’s Planning Commission.  He was Vice-Chairman of the Mayor’s Ad Hoc Trails Committee, which prepared a General Plan Amendment and trails strategy to enhance and protect our then-threatened trails system.  

Brown has been a strong advocate for trails, parks, and athletic fields.   Mr. Brown served on the City committee which led the acquisition and development of Mayors’ Discovery Park.  Mr. Brown played a toward the solution of the City’s previously chronic shortage of community athletic fields through the creation of a new community athletic field adjacent to Mayors’ Discovery Park.  Furthermore, he led a project to add field lights at existing fields, extending the usable hours of these recreational facilities.   Mr. Brown also worked toward the creation of the City’s Skate Park. 

Mr. Brown played an active role in the Council’s rewriting of residential zoning standards to find an appropriate balance between development and the protection of privacy and neighborhood character.  Council Member Brown was heavily involved in bringing sewers to a large part of the city and in laying the groundwork for the eventual installation of sound walls along the 210 freeway.  He was also instrumental in encouraging the revitalization of the City’s downtown area, serving on the Downtown Village Specific Plan Committee and as Mayor when the Town Center project was approved and when Olberz Park was gifted to the City and dedicated.  

Professionally, he is an executive with an independent oil and gas production company which operates in numerous states.  He was previously a partner at Bright and Brown, a law firm which he co-founded in 1981.  Mr. Brown earned a B.A. degree from George Washington University, with Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Mr. Brown and his wife Joyce have lived in La Cañada Flintridge since 1977.  Their daughter Melanie, attended La Canada Unified schools through her graduation from La Canada High School.  Melanie later went on to Columbia Law School.

City Council Memeber Teresa "Terry" Walker             Term: March 2015 to March 2020             First elected: March 2015

City Council Member Walker is a native of Southern California and has been a resident and active member of the La Cañada Flintridge community for the past 34 years.  After retiring in 2010 from a career in Human Resources, she now manages a local family-owned business.  City Council Member Walker has had extensive involvement as a volunteer in several community organizations.  She has been a member of the La Cañada Flintridge Guild of Huntington Memorial Hospital since 1986 and served as president in 1994.  She served eight years on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of the Foothills, and three terms as president of the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce.  In addition, City Council Member Walker has participated on the LCF Business Support and Development Committee since 2003, serving three terms as chair.  In 2008, City Council Member Walker was appointed to the Public Works and Traffic Commission where she served for four years and one term as chair; she also served as a Planning Commissioner for three years and vacated her position there as chair to join the City Council.  Her City Council appointments include participation on the Green Task Force, Solid Waste, Unpermitted Construction, and Parking Subcommittees.  City Council Member Walker represents La Cañada Flintridge as a delegate to the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments.

Council Member Jonathan CurtisCity Council Member Jonathan C. Curtis                  Term: March 2017 to March 2022                   First elected: March 2013

City Council Member Jonathan Curtis was first elected to the La Canada Flintridge City Council in 2013 after having served on the City’s Planning Commission for five years.   Mr. Curtis is also a Regional Council Member for the Southern California Association of Government, where he represents the cities of La Canada Flintridge, Pasadena and South Pasadena in the largest Metropolitan Planning Organization in the United States that covers six counties, 191 cities and over 18 million people.  In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for County Sanitation Districts 28 and 34, the Arroyo Verdugo Subregion Steering Committee, and the SCAG General Assembly.   Within City government, City Council Member Curtis serves on numerous City Council subcommittees, including Economic Development, Legal, Pension Review, Sewer/Septic, Downtown Specific Plan, SR710/Connected Communities Consortium, Diversity Task Force and Southern California Edison.   Finally, Mr. Curtis serves as the Honorary Chair of the La Canada Flintridge Sister Cities Association.

City Council Member Curtis has a record of promoting transparency of City government, prudent fiscal policies, active public safety, responsible planning, opposition to the 710 tunnel, traffic improvements, joint use activities with La Canada Unified School District, active involvement toward the Sagebrush unification with LCUSD, and working with our community groups to “Make a Difference.”  Some of his continuing priority objectives for the City include streamlining City planning and permitting to improve efficiency, ensuring reliable electricity, promoting our Sister Cities Association organization, establishing healthy community actions, and building stronger partnerships with our schools, local businesses, JPL, community groups and residents.  

City Council Member Curtis is a practicing attorney in the corporate, real estate and land use areas, with large international law firm experience and a focus on investment and development. He has received an AV® rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, which is the highest rating an attorney can receive for quality and ethics, and he has also been named as a “Super Lawyer”.  He articulated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA and Jurist Doctorate Degree, cum laude, from Loyola Law School.

City Council Member Curtis and his wife Lisa were both born and raised in southern California and made La Canada Flintridge their home over 18 years ago.  Their two daughters, Melissa and Lauren, were educated in the La Canada Unified School system at Palm Crest Elementary through La Canada High School; and they recently graduated from USC and Chapman University, respectively.

City Council Member Michael T. Davitt             Term: March 2015 to March 2020                   First elected: March 2011

City Council Member Davitt has lived in La Cañada Flintridge since childhood.   As well as his full time corporate real estate position, he is a partner in a local business.  City Council Member Davitt’s public service began in 2003 when the City Council appointed him to the Planning Commission.  After two four-year terms as a City Commissioner, he was elected by the community to fill a City Council seat in 2011.  City Council MemberDavitt serves on the City Council Hillside & Open Space, Rockridge Terrace, and Specific Plan subcommittees, as well as, liaison to the Joint Use Committee.  He is also a City Council representative on the Business Support and Development Committee (BSDC) and Youth Council and a member of the Executive Board of the California Contract Cities Association.  Michael and his wife Alison have 4 children.  Michael is very supportive of charitable organizations and is involved with many local based non-profits.

Goals & Objectives  The City Council has established specific Goals & Objectives for the City, as follows:
  1. To have a friendly, efficient, responsive City Government;
  2. To maintain a healthy financial condition;
  3. To maintain the character of the community: a safe, family-friendly residential community;
  4. To participate with the School District on issues of common concern;
  5. To improve the commercial sector and major thoroughfares of the City;
  6. To provide a safe, healthy environment for the residents of our community; and
  7. To facilitate the appreciation of the diversity of our residents.
 City Council Representative Assignments Annually, the Mayor appoints members of the City Council to represent the City on various agencies, or to serve on sub-committees for specific issues.
